Finding a parking spot at the airport can often be a problem, as airport parking prices are not always reasonable. Trying to find a good-value parking spot can end badly if you have to take a taxi to the airport from there. There’s also the risk of encountering unsafe parking lots – there’s a risk to leaving your car in an unfamiliar place too.
Many European airports are well connected by public transport. So, by planning your trip in advance and dropping a pin on Google Maps, you can avoid parking problems at the airport.
I did the same in Budapest when I drove my relatives to the airport, and picked them up on the way back. First, I looked into which parking options the airport offers, and then I went to pick them up. The location of the parking lot determines its price, and it VARY greatly depending on the distance from the entrance to the airport terminal.

This is a comparison of the most expensive 24-hour parking at European airports. This ranking consistently includes airports in the United Kingdom and Scandinavian countries. The cheapest, however, are airports located near the border with Ukraine in Eastern European countries. You’ll find more details on these below.
Henri Coanda International Airport – Bucharest (Romania)
The busiest airport in Romania ranks ninth on the list, located just 18 km from the capital Bucharest. Airport parking costs €46.7 per week. Parking rates here depend on how long your car stays – the maximum cost is €93 for 30 days.

Charles de Gaulle International Airport – Paris, France
A week of parking at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport will cost you €30 per week. This is a very reasonable rate considering how expensive France’s capital is for tourists. The airport has two open parking lots that serve all terminals. They are located a bit further from the airport building, but you can take a free tram once you leave your car in the parking area.

Orio al Serio International Airport – Bergamo, Italy
The cost of seven days’ parking at Orio al Serio Airport in northern Italy is €32 (P3 Smart parking).
This is the third busiest international airport in Italy, handling 12.3 million passengers a year. This is a low-cost carrier hub – the airport is also called Milan-Bergamo. The airport has over 8,000 parking spaces. You can pre-purchase a membership online for as little as €4.5 per day.

Ferenc Liszt International Airport – Budapest, Hungary
Weekly parking at Budapest International Airport will cost you €29.95. This excellently cheap parking area is only a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal. Of course, the price varies depending on which parking lot you choose. Smart parking at Budapest Airport is the cheapest if you decide to leave your car for a week or more.

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández International Airport – Alicante, Spain
Leaving your car at the airport in this popular city costs only €54 per week. While several private parking options are available even closer to the airport building, the long-stay parking area is just a few minutes’ walk from the new terminal. Most facilities are covered, so your car won’t be left in the Alicante sun. There are also specially designated spots for large vehicles and campers.

Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport – Rome, Italy
Parking at Italy’s largest airport – in Rome – will cost only €34.30 for seven days. For longer trips there is a long-stay car park – it is located a bit further out, but a shuttle bus will take you to the terminal in 10 minutes. You can also leave your car at the multi-storey car park opposite the terminal – more convenient, but more expensive. If you don’t need to stay at the airport for long, there is a “Kiss & Go” zone for drop-off under 15 minutes.
