The 10 best indoor water parks in Europe, where children and adults of all ages can enjoy thrilling experiences.

Aquapolis – Szeged, Hungary

The Hungarian Aquapolis is home to the longest water slide in Europe. This is the 272-meter-long so-called Anaconda, where water drops from a height of 30 meters. In addition to this incredible giant, the water park features numerous other attractions located in both the indoor and outdoor areas of the complex. Aquapolis is not just a water park, but also a spa and fitness center. So, in addition to the exciting fun on the slides, you can also treat yourself to a massage or soak in one of the baths to rest and relax after enjoying the complex’s many attractions.

  • The main feature of Aquapolis is its slides . The record-breaking Blue Anaconda is the park’s star, but there are many other attractions that are no less interesting. The extreme Kamikaze slide and the circular Onion are also popular.
  • The Wellness and Fun Spa has indoor and outdoor pools and several different saunas. 
  • Napfényfitness is the complex’s large fitness center.  
  • Forrás Spa  is an exclusive area in the complex, decorated with mosaics. It is the best place for a quiet retreat away from the crowds of visitors.

Aquariaz – Avoriaz, France

Aquariaz is a tropical paradise for the whole family, located among the French Alps. Here, you can feel as though you are in a tropical jungle, surrounded by vines and lush trees growing among numerous large rocks. You will enjoy the lazy river with its gentle current and numerous relaxation areas with water jets. There is also a half-pipe slide, a large pool, climbing walls, and plenty of space for children to play. The Aquariaz water park operates both during the winter ski season and in summer. In winter, the outdoor spa is heated, so you can enjoy soaking in a hot tub under the stars, surrounded by snow and crisp Alpine air.

Where Aquariaz is located

The water park is located in the Avoriaz resort in Haute-Savoie in the Northern Alps, more precisely in the Chablais mountain range. The resort is situated at an altitude of 1,800 m, offering a breathtaking view of the Olpe Valley. This resort is one of the world’s largest cross-border ski areas — Portes du Soleil.

Suntago Water World — Wręcza, Poland

Poland has claimed the title of Europe’s largest indoor water park. Suntago Water World is a gigantic labyrinth of winding, intertwined slides and water tubes. This huge network of colorful attractions will impress even the most die-hard adrenaline enthusiasts. The best part is that Suntago Water World is not even finished yet. As of 2021, only the first phase of the project had been completed. One can only imagine how impressive the entire complex will look when it reaches its full potential.  

Infrastructure

At present, Suntago has three separate zones for different needs. Choose one of the thrilling attractions or relax in the relaxation area and saunas. The park also offers wellness treatments at its spa.

  • Jamango  is a dense indoor jungle filled with a multitude of diverse attractions. The zone consists of 32 themed slides for children and adults. 
  • The relaxation zone invites you to cool off among real palm trees in a lush tropical forest. There are eight pools here, as well as the Adventure River, which winds from a cave beneath the water park’s roof.
  • Saunaria offers various forms of entertainment, featuring its 12 different types of saunas.

Where is Suntago Water Park located

Suntago Water World is located in central Poland, in the small village of Wręcza, about 50 km from Warsaw. The park is located between the S8 expressway and the A2 motorway. The main advantage of this massive indoor complex is its year-round accessibility. Opening hours may vary depending on the season, but it always keeps its doors open to visitors. You can buy day tickets or tickets for visits lasting 2–4 hours.

Lalandia Aquadome — Billund, Denmark

The Danish park Lalandia Aquadome proves that the cold north can also be the epicenter of summer. Scandinavia’s largest water park is a tropical oasis in Billund, also home to the famous Legoland. Where is Lalandia Water Park located

Billund is a Danish town where Lalandia is located, also known for its incredible Legoland theme park. The distance from Billund Airport to Lalandia is 3 km. There is no airport transfer to Lalandia, but you can order a taxi upon arrival. Visitors arriving by train in Vejle, 27 km from Billund, can use a direct bus service. The nearest bus stop is located near the Legoland amusement park. Details are available on the water park’s website in Billund.

Alpamare – Pfäffikon, Switzerland

Alpamare is a water park located in the cold Swiss Alps. It is one of the first indoor water parks in Europe. The complex operates year-round, even in winter. Palm trees and mysterious Mayan-themed ruins offer a dramatic change of scenery if you suddenly tire of the mountain snow and ice. For maximum enjoyment, treat yourself to one of the thermal baths in authentic Alpine style.

Infrastructure

After many years of operation, Alpamare is still the largest water park in Switzerland. A large indoor pool leads to twelve different attractions suitable for all ages. The complex’s wellness and fitness centers are also worth visiting. 

  • Balla Balla  is the heart of the water park. This 261 m-long slide begins in darkness and ends with a bright exit into the light.
  • IceXpress  is a 158-meter-long tube designed to look like an ice channel. 
  • Thriller  takes you through a 130-meter-long dark tube. Multicolored lights dance along its walls, creating a fun optical illusion. 
  • Alpa Therme  is a pool with massage jets, bubbling loungers, underwater music, and a grotto with a waterfall.
  • Rio Mare  is a 100-meter-long course where you can drift with the current. All of this is accompanied by breathtaking views of Lake Zurich and the unforgettable Swiss mountains.

How to get to Alpamare

Pfäffikon is located on the left bank of Lake Zurich at the foot of Etzel. If you are traveling by car, take the A3 motorway, exit Pfäffikon/SZ, drive toward Pfäffikon, and then follow the signs to Seedamm Center and later Alpamare. Alpamare is also easily accessible by public transport. Additional information is available on the Alpamare water park website.

Tropical Islands – Krausnick, Germany

The Tropical Islands water park near landlocked Berlin sounds like a strange dream. This unusual water park has brought the spirit of the Pacific Ocean straight to the heart of northern Germany. Of all the amusement parks in the world, Tropical Islands has the most unusual origin story. The titanic structure housing the water park was originally built as a military hangar for an airship. Through strange twists of history, the Aerium hangar Aerium was transformed into a lush exotic tropical forest. Long sandy beaches, themed villages, and countless attractions now make up this sprawling indoor kingdom. You can even spend the night in a tent at the water park to feel as though you are on a tropical island.

Each of the park’s five zones has a distinctive look inspired by different cultures. Themed buildings and matching vegetation add plenty of individuality. 

  • The Tropical Sea  and a wonderful sandy beach beneath the palm trees. The beach also has an area dedicated to the mysterious Princess Moana – an ideal place for restless children.
  • A magical lagoon is hidden among picturesque rocks adorned with atmospheric Balinese huts. Water slides descend from a 27-meter tower. The attraction consists of four different rides, ranging from a leisurely family ride to a high-speed extreme descent.
  • Amazonia  is the outdoor section of the park. Its most prominent feature is the Whitewater River, a 250-meter-long wild-water channel.
  • Tropical Village resembles traditional places in Thailand, Borneo, Samoa, and Bali. It is also home to most of the resort’s restaurants and cafés.
  • Rainforest invites explorers on an exciting journey through the jungle. This unique botanical garden is also home to flamingos, macaws, and turtles.

How to get to Tropical Islands

Tropical Islands is located approximately 60 kilometers south of central Berlin, near Briesen/Brand in the south of the municipality of Halbe. The theme park is located on the site of the former Brand airfield, in the former Aerium hangar. The resort can be reached via the A13 motorway, or you can take a train to Brand Tropical Islands; a free shuttle bus operates from the station. AquaCity – Poprad, Slovakia

At AquaCity there are water attractions for everyone to enjoy. In the children’s area, Treasure Island is a pirate ship anchored in the middle of a saltwater pool. Adults can enjoy hot tubs and water slides, a terrarium full of iguanas, zip lines, or an evening laser show in the Blue Sapphire wave pool. There is also a children’s entertainment area with inflatable slides and sledding tracks. AquaCity water park runs on geothermal water and solar energy. It is therefore one of the only fully eco-friendly water parks in the world. Wellness enthusiasts can enjoy healing mineral waters and steam baths.

How to get to AquaCity

AquaCity is located near the center of Poprad, which lies in the northeastern part of Slovakia. The pools are situated in a picturesque location at the foot of the High Tatras. Druskininkai Water Park – Lithuania

The Druskininkai Water Park was opened at a resort known for its healing mineral waters. The resort of the same name was established here as early as 1794 and has retained its reputation to this day as the best balneological resort in Lithuania. Over time, however, the Druskininkai resort gained a magnificent water park – an additional spectacular attraction. Beneath its massive dome, the water park offers 30,000 square meters of aquatic entertainment. In addition to water slides, pools, and sandy beaches, this water park also specializes in baths and saunas.

  • Water slides , as always, are the stars of the show. The Bermuda slide is the longest in the water park, with a descent enhanced by sound and light effects that will heighten your experience. The Extreme and Adrenaline slides are designed for the bravest riders, while Stream offers a more relaxing experience.
  • Bathhouse Area invites you to explore 19 saunas styled after different countries around the world, each with its own unique feature.
  • Druskininkai swimming pools are surrounded by palm trees and cascades. 
  • The Children’s Area promises wonderful entertainment for the youngest members of the family. This section features climbing structures, slides, a monkey bridge, a mysterious jungle, and even a special pool designed specifically for children.

How to get to Druskininkai Water Park

Druskininkai is a resort town on the Nemunas River in southern Lithuania, near the borders of Belarus and Poland. The town is surrounded by the picturesque landscape of a natural forest reserve. The water park is located in the city center at Vilniaus al. 13-1, Druskininkai. The entrance to the underground parking lot is from Maironio Street. There is another parking lot before the bridge, on the other side of Maironio Street. Both parking lots are paid (free for guests of the AQUA and FLORES hotels). Free parking is located beyond the bridge, on the other side of the Nemunas. If you travel by train to one of the major cities (Vilnius or Kaunas), you need to continue to Druskininkai by intercity bus or rental car. From the Druskininkai bus station, we recommend walking to us (~10–15 min), taking a city bus, or using a taxi. Aqualibi – Wavre, Belgium

Slides, a wave pool, water jets, waterfalls, fountains, jacuzzis, and relaxation pools – all beneath a large transparent dome.   • Slide Bi-Bob – here, alone or in pairs, you get into a large tube and plunge at least 140 m downhill. During this ride, you will make several turns outside the building. After riding this attraction once, you immediately want to go again.
  • Flash Slide – this slide is unique thanks to its high speed and smooth transparent tube, which allows you to slide straight down. You start from a height of 7.5 m and reach a speed of 50 km/h thanks to freefall at a 45° angle. Before you realize it, you are splashing into the water, full of adrenaline. 
  • After such an active day, you should definitely relax in the lagoon’s hot tubs to achieve complete zen. Close your eyes, stop thinking, and enjoy the peace. 
  • The wave pool was created to give you an unforgettable moment of fun with family or friends.
  • Children’s area — slides, a giant water bucket, and incredibly fun water jets to make the little ones laugh.

How to get to Aqualibi water park

Aqualibi is located in Wavre, in Belgium’s Wallonia region, approximately half an hour’s drive southeast of Brussels (28 kilometers). The nearest railway station, Bierges-Walibi, is approximately a 15-minute walk from the amusement park. From here, you can reach Brussels by train in approximately one hour, with a direct service to Bruxelles-Midi station. Therme Bucuresti – Bucharest, Romania

Therme Bucuresti is the largest leisure and entertainment center in Europe, built amid greenery. This leisure complex has a wellness concept designed to help guests completely disconnect from hectic city life. Therme Bucuresti open 365 days a year, it has three separate zones – Galaxy, The Palm and Elysium, each of which has different admission prices. If you have chosen a zone and paid for it but want to access another zone, you must pay additionally for this visit using the electronic wristband, or pay in advance for access to all three zones at once. Zone Galaxy – open to everyone – families with children and senior citizens. The Palm zone – for adults and senior citizens only. The Elysium zone – for adults up to 60 years old only.

Most families buy Galaxy tickets due to the age restrictions in Palm and Elysium. Palm has mineral pools and outdoor areas. Elysium allows you to visit not only the Galaxy slides, but also saunas, enjoy red-light therapy, and visit an adults-only restaurant on the top floor.

  • Zone Galaxy – the biggest slides in Europe, including an intergalactic slide where you can ride through a light show. The Racer slide is perfect for those who dream of competing in high-speed descents.
  • The Palm zone – relax on sun loungers or in a jacuzzi beneath the palms. In this zone, you are surrounded by a real botanical garden with dozens of species of exotic plants.
  • The Elysium zone – offers the opportunity to visit 10 saunas: 6 dry and 4 wet, as well as mineral pools and red-light therapy. The saunas are themed, and each offers a different kind of heat. Temperatures range from 113 to 194 degrees Fahrenheit. For example, breathe high-altitude air in a sauna made of wood brought from mountain peaks. Or watch nature documentaries in the cinema sauna. Experience the rejuvenating effect of infrared therapy at The Flower Lounge.

Location of Therme Bucuresti

The spa center is just 16 km from the center of  Bucharest and 2 km from Otopeni Airport. The journey from the city center can take around 30 minutes. You can take an electric train to the Petresti station. Or use Uber instead of a regular taxi—it is faster and cheaper.
