How to choose accommodation in Cappadocia, where are the best hotels with terraces and hot air balloon views. In which town is it better to choose a hotel so that everything is close by, comfortable and within walking distance.
I wrote about our trip to Cappadocia where I celebrated my birthday on a hot air balloon. Now let’s talk about cave hotels, another tourist attraction of Cappadocia.
Goreme – hotels in the heart of Cappadocia
The town of Goreme is a tourist center of Cappadocia. All the companies that organize balloon flights are located here. There are many hotels and restaurants here. From here, it is easy to get to the hiking trail through the Valley of Love and the Valley of Doves.
Public transportation runs from Gereme to the neighboring villages of Uchisar, Nevsehir, Kayseri, Avanos, and Yurgiup. This is important for those who decide to come to Cappadocia for a couple of days and not rent a car at the airport.

There are also wonderful cave hotels in Goreme with amazing terraces from which you can watch the balloons fly. Every morning at dawn, hundreds of bullets fly over Göreme. You can not only fly them, but also watch this spectacle from the hotel.

Zara Cave Hotel – is one of the most beautiful cave hotels in Goreme. Room with natural stone walls, marble bath. The hotel has several observation decks that offer views of Goreme and morning hot air balloon flights.

Carus Cappadocia – the hotel is located in the center of Goreme. Designer rooms with thoughtful little details for your stay. Huge multi-level terraces overlooking the city are decorated for morning photo shoots against the backdrop of balloons. Excellent restaurant with traditional and European cuisine.

Elite Cave Suites – is an excellent comfortable hotel with excellent staff. They will help you book a balloon flight and organize a transfer. There is a restaurant with a variety of breakfasts and dinners.

Guzide Cave Hotel – is a quiet home-style hotel for those who like privacy. Cozy, warm rooms. There is an observation deck located within walking distance of the main square of Gereme.
Hotels in the village of Uchisar
Uchisar is a village and fortress of the same name located three kilometers from Goreme. We stayed in one of the hotels in Uchisar when we went to Cappadocia.

Why did you choose this particular place?
- Firstly, because Uchisar is located on a hill with a great view of the valleys of Cappadocia.
- Secondly, hotels here are cheaper than in Goreme.
- Thirdly, it is convenient to start a hiking route through the Valley of Love from here, walk it in a couple of hours, and then stop for lunch in one of the cafes in Göreme. And to return through the Valley of the Doves, which ends at the top of the hill in Uchisar.
There is also a wonderful winery and wine tasting room on the outskirts of Uchisar. We used to walk here to buy wine and participate in tastings. Overall, Uchisar is a worthy alternative to Goreme.

Karlık Evi Hotel – is a stylish hotel that combines the authentic idea of a stone cave with modern technology. There are unique rooms with a glass roof through which you can see the stars at night. And in the morning you can watch the sunrise and balloon flights from the comfort of the terrace. The hotel has a swimming pool and a garden.

Takaev Cave Hotel – is a cave hotel with a terrace located in the right direction for the sunrise and the trajectory of balloons. A very cool feature of the hotel is that the bathroom has great Instagram baths and windows overlooking the Valley of the Pigeons. The mornings will be unforgettable, and unusual photos will remain as a memento.

Museum Hotel – is a magnificent boutique hotel located in the heart of Uchisar next to the fortress. Private pool, cave rooms with Jacuzzi, terrace with views of the valley and Goreme.

Ariana Sustainable Luxury Lodge – is a hotel built on an island of tuff rocks. Stylish cave rooms, some room categories have a fireplace. It has its own garden, vineyards, a terrace and a restaurant overlooking the valley.
Recommendations for organizing a trip to Turkey
Rent a car – I highly recommend it, because without it, you will spend a lot of time waiting or adjusting your plans to public transportation. You can find the best option for a rental company on the aggregator Rentalcars.com – Here you can find a budget option and read reviews about rental companies.
Book your accommodation in advance – remember that in Turkey Booking.com is not allowed in Turkey, so it’s better to find and book a hotel at home. Or use a VPN while in Turkey.
