Czechia is not exactly a mountainous country, but almost everywhere there are hills and low mountains. I have already written about Czechia\u2019s ski resorts \u2013 now it\u2019s time to learn about summer mountain recreation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This article will help you find interesting routes and places for easy hikes in the mountains, as well as accommodation options nearby \u2013 where to stay in hotels or apartments. You can easily organize a wonderful weekend trip to nature on your own. Moreover, Czechia has good roads and excellent transport, especially the railway, through which you can reach almost every corner of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vla\u0161im Hills \u2013 the Closest Mountains to Prague<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s put it this way \u2013 these are not really mountains, so you won\u2019t find Vla\u0161imsk\u00e1 pahorkatina<\/strong> in the standard list of Czechia\u2019s ski resorts. But why not pay attention to it, if you would like to ski or simply stroll on slopes for the weekend. Moreover, these are the closest mountains to Prague<\/strong> (just over an hour by car), where you can have a great time both in winter and summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nature Trails of Blan\u00edk Mountain<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Take a walk on the 4-kilometer educational trail \u201cWith a Knight to Blan\u00edk.\u201d There are 14 stops with information panels, and children are awaited by 17 stations with various tasks: from studying leaves to a jumping contest where they compare their skills with animals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nature trail is not circular<\/strong>, it begins on one side of the hill and ends on the other near the parking lot. The parking lot above the village of Lunovice-pod-Blanikem<\/strong> is free, while the other near the village Kondrac<\/strong> is paid<\/strong>. You can return to your car via the same route, or take a partially unmarked path around the hill and partially retrace the main path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the top of Blan\u00edk stands a 30-meter lookout tower<\/a><\/strong>. The entrance fee is symbolic (adults \u2013 30 K\u010d, children (3-14 years) \u2013 20 K\u010d<\/strong>). From October to March it is open only on weekends and holidays, from April to September it is open every day except Monday. There is a snack bar and souvenir shop on the first floor of the lookout tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
