Puerto de Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> is the main resort center in the north of Mallorca. Here, picturesque beaches and modern infrastructure combine: hotels of various classes, bars, and shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resort is very popular among families with children\u2014the beaches here are shallow and wide, and there is a water park and children’s playgrounds nearby. At the same time, Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> is also suitable for active recreation: from golf and tennis to windsurfing. Natural parks (for example, Parc Natural S\u2019Albufera<\/strong>\u2014a large reserve with lakes) and picturesque surroundings are ideal for cycling and hiking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When is the best time to visit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Climate: winters here are mild, and summers are warm and dry. The best period to visit is from April to October<\/strong>, when sunny weather favors beach holidays. July\u2013August<\/strong> are the hottest months (+25\u201330\u00b0C), when the sea warms up for swimming to +25\u00b0C, but this is also when there are the most tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We visited at the beginning of October – the weather at this time is already quite changeable, with one day of heavy rain. But almost the entire week was sunny. The air temperature during the day in October equals the water temperature\u2014+24 \u00b0C. Very comfortable\u2014it’s possible to spend the whole day at the beach. However, winds can occur\u2014you should know about this too. The bay is quite large and not completely sheltered from the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alcudia Beaches<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are three main beaches in Alcudia – Puerto de Alcudia<\/strong>, Playa de Muro<\/strong>, and Platja de Ca\u2019n Picafort<\/strong>\u2014very similar beaches along the shoreline. In total, it’s about 10 km. Some beaches have pine forests coming close to the sea. Some people hide in the pine shade during the heat and enjoy the aroma of pine trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alcudia has some of the best beaches for children in Mallorca. The beaches are indeed very clean: blue water and fine white sand. And the gradual entry into the sea for 50\u2013100 meters puts parents at ease and allows children to splash around as much as they like. Moreover, in June the water warms up better in such shallows and by the evening, it\u2019s like fresh milk. Adults, of course, have to spend time to reach a reasonable depth for swimming and diving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water clarity<\/strong>\u2014no less than 10 meters. You can often see fish and huge jellyfish. In the morning, there is almost no wind; by noon, it can pick up and create small waves, but not every day. However, wind does happen, and you sometimes have to chase after umbrellas. Though in summer this is rather rare and is tolerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
