But it\u2019s not always possible to get to your flight on time\u2014it\u2019s often necessary to spend the night in Chi\u0219in\u0103u to make sure you reach the airport in time and don\u2019t miss your flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most people look for accommodation right near the airport. But you don\u2019t always have to overpay. So you have to travel a day in advance and stay overnight to catch a morning flight (the train arrives around 11 am).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Second<\/strong>, those traveling by bus\u2014especially from far away\u2014need to allow extra time for unexpected incidents. For example, buses get stuck at the border if the database is down or the lights go out due to shelling. Even I, living in Odesa, if my flight is at 12\u20132 pm, travel to Chi\u0219in\u0103u the night before because I\u2019m afraid of missing the flight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Third<\/strong>, some planes arrive very late and buses or other transfers to Ukraine run far less often at night; nobody wants to spend the night on the road, etc. Or the train\u2019s only next day\u2014so it\u2019s better to spend the night in Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-it-worth-staying-overnight-at-chi\u0219inau-airport\"><strong>Is it worth staying overnight at Chi\u0219in\u0103u Airport?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Often tourists spend the night at Chi\u0219in\u0103u Airport\u2014it never closes at night, so it is possible in principle. Passengers settle on chairs on the second floor of the departures area (before boarding pass\/security check). There are sofas for caf\u00e9 visitors and regular chairs with armrests for other passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Main thing to realize<\/strong>: Chi\u0219in\u0103u Airport has expanded its flight program so much that sometimes there simply aren\u2019t enough seats to sit, let alone lie on the chairs. Some people sit on the window sills, some even on the floor, when it&#8217;s very crowded. Install the <strong>Letz<\/strong> app, link your Ukrainian card (works like Bolt or Uber\u2014but these don\u2019t operate in Moldova), and order a taxi anytime day or night. From the station it\u2019s 30\u201340 minutes at most in rush hour; otherwise, it\u2019s quicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the city center, it\u2019s faster\u201415\u201320 minutes (provided there\u2019s no traffic, though this direction is almost always free unless there\u2019s a random incident or roadwork).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also advise using <strong>Letz<\/strong> taxi (especially with luggage and kids) from Gara Nord\u2014international bus terminal. Exception: if you go right to the airport and don\u2019t plan to stop in Chi\u0219in\u0103u\u2014nearly all buses headed for the city first stop at the airport (check your bus ticket just in case or ask the driver).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can also get from central Chi\u0219in\u0103u to the <strong>airport by trolleybus #30<\/strong> (and vice versa from the airport to town if you spend the night after arriving in Moldova). Previously, you could pay by card in this trolleybus, but now the terminals aren\u2019t working, so you need cash. The airport has an exchange office in working hours, and there are many exchanges in town; they accept hryvnia. I always exchange a few hundred hryvnias in Ukraine for Moldovan lei ahead of time, so I have money for the trolleybus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">City trolleybuses and buses cost <strong>6 lei (0,2 Euro)<\/strong>. The staff works well and are very customer-focused. There\u2019s a dining room where you can comfortably eat if you bring your own food. No restaurant on site, but there\u2019s a caf\u00e9 and restaurant nearby. The hotel staff is very kind and polite, thank you for the hospitality. It\u2019s very convenient to get here from the airport (or to the airport), or from the city center by trolleybus #30, which stops right at the hotel (there\u2019s a stop). Prices are fair, it\u2019s clean and neat. Can check in in the evening, there are shops, a caf\u00e9 if you arrive not too late.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-long-term-parking-near-chi\u0219inau-airport\"><strong>Long-term parking near Chi\u0219in\u0103u Airport<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you come to <strong>Chi\u0219in\u0103u Airport<\/strong> by private car\u2014you need to decide <strong>where to leave your car long-term<\/strong>. We used to park for a week at the airport\u2014three years ago the prices were reasonable. Now it\u2019s very expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the recent price hikes at the airport parking, lots of private parking sites with airport transfers have sprung up. They\u2019re much cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parking <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aeropark.md\/#rates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Aeropark<\/a><\/strong> by the airport\u2014130 lei per day, transfer to\/from the airport included. Allow 20 minutes to park and transfer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nearby parking <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/YUwz4j8SFAGb8Qyj8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iPARKING &amp; TRANSFER<\/a><\/strong>\u2014also very close to the airport, with included transfer.
